With only six days to go until the swim squads start, I thought I'd explain a little about who the squads are aimed at. Being called a 'squad' could put some people off joining because they think it will be too 'hard-core' and only for the uber-fit. This is simply not the case. The Do3 Swim Squads are suitable for anyone who is looking to:
- Improve technique
- Improve fitness
- Improve their open water skills
- Get faster
- Gain motivation by training with others
- Enjoy training with other like-minded individuals
- Meet new friends
- Simply have fun doing what you love!
The Do3 Swim Squads are structured to ensure that everyone gets the most out of the session. Swimmers are 'seeded' into lanes so you will be swimming with others of a similar ability. Lane and overall squad numbers are strictly limited to ensure everyone has the room they need to have a quality workout.
In order to get the most out of the squad sessions we recommend that you should be able to swim 200-400 metres continuously. We expect to have a wide range of swimmers going from sub 1:20 per 100m through to 2:30+ for the same distance. As mentioned above, lanes are seeded by ability so no-one will be 'out of their depth'.
