Do3 Squad News and Strava Update - Corinne crushes the field at Dambuster and Rebecca gets dizzy at the Trailblaster Ultra!

Short and sweet update this week gang. Not sure where the time has all gone (maybe the hours are shorter here in the UK now we are out of the EU?). Anyway, we have a brand new table topper this week. Rebecca Brown has literally run her way to the top and logged a total of 11hrs 51mins. What makes this all the more impressive is that the bulk of this time was done in a single solitary run session!  Rebecca took part in the Ellis Brigham Trailblaster 12 Ultramarathon on Sunday and covered a total of 42.8 miles over 10 hours of running. The Trailblaster Ultra sees runners either run solo run or in teams around a 5k course. Quite simply the idea is to cover as many laps as you can in the 12 hour time period. Rebecca ran a whopping 14 laps to get to her 42.8 miles. Seriously impressive (and slightly bonkers) stuff Rebecca – well done!!

Topping the bike table was Peter Wharton with an impressive 6hrs and 22mins in the saddle.

Some more big news this week is that our very own mermaid, Sarah Jane McDonnell has been knocked off the swim top-spot! Do3 Swim Squads pocket powerhouse Sheila Lammas has grabbed the swim title with a total of 4hrs 50mins in the water. Sheila's swimming has really come on strongly since she joined the squad and spending plenty of time in the water is a sure-fire way of continuing that progress. Great work Sheila!

Away from the Strava table, Corinne Moss notched up her biggest result so far with a fantastic performance at the Dambuster Triathlon. As a qualifier for the World Championships, a strong field was expected at this race so the pressure was on Corinne to put in a good performance if she wanted to book her ticket to the Worlds. Always a solid performer, Corinne clocked the fastest bike split as well as second fastest swim and run times to take the win in her age-group be nearly 5 minutes over second placed local athlete Emma Bexson. Seriously impressive performance Corinne – reward for all the hard work you have put in.

I am awarding the 'Squad member of the week' title this week to Rebecca Brown. In my eyes, anyone who can run 14 times around a 5k course and cover 43 miles deserves serious kudos (and a white coat ;) ). Rebecca, your spot prize is a pair of X-Socks Run Speed One running socks – perfect for those no-doubt sore feet of yours!

'Operation Scrounge' continues. If you know of any companies who would be likely to donate prizes in return for coverage amongst the squad and further afield to 4k+ on social media let me know!
