Do3 Squad News and Strava Update - Do3 Athletes Clean Up at Warwickshire Triathlon!

It was a busy weekend again last weekend with quite a few members of the squad taking part in a variety of events. I even managed to venture out to my own 'sufferfest'! – more about that HERE

*Becky asked me to choose a 'nice' photo of her. Sorry Becky, couldn't resist!

In the Strava league, Running Machine Becky Brown took top spot with a HUGE 15:16hrs of total training time. A large chunk of this was done at the Gower Ultra where Becky ran an incredible 50 miles around the Gower peninsula. Becky completed the run in an amazing 15:37hrs (not quite sure why the Strava times are out?!). Anyway, amazing stuff Becky. Super well done. Unsurprisingly Becky also took the run time title too!

Shin Braich finished his cycling season with another cycle time win with 6:51hrs. The next few weeks and months will see Shin hitting the pool and no doubt challenging for the swim honors instead! (at least that will give others a look-in on the cycling side Shin! :) )

Nicki Osborne topped the swimming charts with 3:16hrs in the water. Great work Nicki, as all swimmers know, time in the pool pays off so you will be flying next season I have no doubt.

Over at the Warwickshire Triathlon, Do3 athletes had an amazing day out. Recently back from the World Championships, Corinne Moss SMASHED the race to pieces and took the overall win in 1:00:40, a clear 3:18 ahead of second place and 6:00 ahead of third! In a race lasting an hour, that is an amazing result, WELL DONE Corinne.  Next Do3 athlete home and taking the win in her age-group was Sheila Lammas. Sheila finished in 1:07:57 and 6th overall. Toni Gaskins then finished in 1:08:21 to complete a great season and again take home the age-group win!  Well done Sheila and Toni!! (great kit Toni!)

John Wrottesley and Paul Nash headed over to the Silverstone racing circuit to take part in the 'Silverstone Time Trial Challenge'. John clocked a time of 28:41 in the 10 mile time trial and Paul Nash shot round in 1:08:16 in the 25 mile version. Great cycling guys!

Finally, James Cusack ventured down to Blenheim Palace to take part in the BHF Blenheim Half Marathon. James managed to finish off an amazing season with a run of 1:30:28. Super time James, well done for an amazing season overall.

This week we have a spot prize thanks to Corinne Moss. Corinne has been kind enough to donate one of her Warwickshire Triathlon prizes so we have a HUUGE tub of High-5 energy drink to give away.  This week I am going to give the prize to Rebecca Brown. Becky has not only run an amazing 50 mile ultra this week but overall she has been working SO hard on her swimming and has been making vast improvements (so much so in fact that I have heard the 'Ironman' word lately!). Anyway, well done again Becky!
