Do3 weekend round up 16th -17th June Weekend of PB’s

Do3, the Midlands based squad, was on good form at the weekend with all racers achieving personal bests at events in Estonia, The Lake District and Berkshire.

Paul Squires from Hampton Lucy raced at the Pitsford Triathlon, finishing the race with a personal best time at the specified distance. He completed the Olympic distance race in 2.59 while Carl James took part in the Windsor Triathlon over the distances of 1500m swim, 40km bike and 10km run. James, from Bidford on Avon, posted a personal best first leg at the event with a 22 minute swim.

Keswick and the glorious Lake District was the backdrop for The Lakesman Triathlon, a full distance event of 2.4m swim, 112m bike and 26.2 run. Charles John from Dorridge completed the race in 12.43.16 while fellow squad member Mark Woo completed the Lakesman Half. Woo completed his middle distance race in 5:09, a best ever time over the distance and in the top 6% of his age group.

Longstanding Do3 squad member Paul Nash was in Estonia at Ironman 70.3 Otepää. He raced in perfect conditions and held a leading place in his age group over the swim and led the way in much of the 56m bike ride. Despite being overtaken during the hilly 13.2m run he held on to a podium position as third in his age group.

Dave Knight, Do3 coach comments “Another great weekend for the squad. I’m extremely pleased for all those who raced at the weekend and I know the rest of the squad is delighted with these results. We train hard together and, while we race individually, we all know that the squad is behind each and every person.  Some of the squad may be embarking on their first race, some may be hammering down the door for professional status – whatever the situation, we are working as one in doing our best and doing it with a smile”.

Do3 is mentored and managed by Dave Knight, one of the UK’s leading triathlon coaches and recognised as Coach of the Year at Stratford District Council Sport Awards. The squad is made up of over 200 Midlands based athletes; from triathlon enthusiasts and age group competitors to professional athletes.
