Seanin Gilmore, Ireland age group (AG) triathlete, took part in the Powerman Duathlon in Alsdorf, Germany. Raced over a 10km run, 60km bike then a second 10km run, the event was the German Championships and drew elite and AG athletes from across the globe. Seanin completed the course in 3:08 and was 1st in her age group by over 10 minutes and was 9th lady overall.

Further afield, Mike Willers raced in Do3 colours in Australia’s Tri The Gong which took place in Wollongong near Sydney. Competing in the standard distance triathlon, he finished the 1.5km swim, 40km bike and 10km run in 2:57. Long-standing Do3 athlete, Paul Nash, completed Ironman 70.3 Greece and raced with fellow squad member Sophie Kirk who was 2nd in her age group over the 1.9km swim, 90km bike and 20km run.

Laura and Vicki both came second in their age groups.  Lee Mckervey, Peter Wharton and Richard Bell ran the Brighton Marathon, Neil Wicks was in Wales for the Great Welsh Marathon, while Stephanie Cox was in the USA to race in the Boston marathon.

Dave Knight, head coach, comments: “Seanin showcased her utter determination and tenacity in a world class field of athletes. She has worked hard throughout the winter months to achieve results like these and she is thoroughly deserving to be in the top 10 and at the fore of her age group. Well done to everyone else who raced; the squad has been both local and further afield this weekend which indicates that we are heading back in to the busy triathlon season.”

Do3 is mentored and managed by award winning coach Dave Knight and is made up of over 200 Midlands-based athletes; from triathlon enthusiasts and international age group competitors to professional athletes. Squad members are given access to a dedicated app that manages swim and run sessions, contains up-coming events, leader boards, rewards and special offers.
